solid lotion in a push up tube or a bar?

I was messing around with my lotion bar packaging and decided to put my favorite solid lotion in push up and twist up tubes.  Three different kinds of tubes to be exact.  Turns out I don't use them!  It seemed like a great idea.  I mean I don't have to get my hands greasy when I put the lotion on, but I think I actually miss holding it.  I think if I hold the lotion bar in my hand it melts it more and then I can apply it easier.

So my question is, do you prefer your solid lotion in a tube or as a bar in a tin or other container?  Or do you just not prefer solid lotion bars?

  1. This is my reasoning...I feel like I get more of the lotion when it's in a bar shape, like you say. However, unless I'm going to sleep, the lotion is too sticky/greasy to be all over my hands. So, I like doing "spot treatments" on my knuckles, etc, during the day and a tube is perfect for that. And, I love the portability of lotion bars in a tube. I keep one in my bag. To be honest, I'm a little turned off by a lint/dust attracting lotion bar in a dish or the eventual messiness of a tin. ...All that to say, I understand what you mean, but I like tubes.

  2. Thanks for the comment! That sounds just like me! I was using the tube for spot treatments and it was perfect. I could put the lotion on the back of my hands, knees, feet, whatever. I just need to find the right kind of tube now!

  3. I like the idea of tubes as well. I wish I could find some here, larger than lip balm tubes. I have been experimenting with lotion bars, trying to get that mix but I just haven't yet, either too greasy or too hard... I don't like a waxy feeling. Let us know what you choose! xo Jen

  4. @Jennifer..Thank you! I think I'm going to stick with the tubes. I do need to get the twist up kind as the push up kind does not stay pushed up with my recipe! Kind of annoying!
